Mint

Mint is an all-around finance app that’s raved about on both the App Store and Google Play. While other apps only provide expense trackers, Mint automatically divides your spending into personalized categories to make it easier to establish budget limitations. Plus, it’s free and allows you to sync to your bank accounts so that everything gets accounted for.

Spendee

Spendee is a free and simple-to-use app that even beginners can navigate. It offers a complete financial dashboard that you can use on your phone to see where your money is going each month. Just download it on your phone and enter every purchase you make. They even provide graphs showing how well you’re sticking to your budget.

Mvelopes

If you’re familiar with the envelope budget method, then Mvelopes is the app for you. You’ll have the option to allocate your funds into as many envelopes as you can without the hassle of physically dividing your money. People like this method of saving because it makes them practice mindful spending, which can help avoid impulse purchases.

Money Manager Expense & Budget

Money Manager makes budgeting less intimidating as they offer a more visual approach to finances. Nifty features included in the app are passcode lock, asset management, instant stats, and real-time bookkeeping. Not to mention, you can easily export your data to an Excel spreadsheet, even with the free version.

Google Sheets

While Google Sheets is not exclusively a budgeting app, many people still prefer the old-school method of tracking their finances on a spreadsheet. Fill in the cells with your numbers just like you would on Excel and compute income and expenses. It’s free to use when you have a Google account, and your file automatically gets saved in the cloud.
