How To Work Efficiently For Your Next Work Week

Many of us have trouble coping with the physical and mental stress of our everyday workloads. Ever since the beginning of the pandemic and the enforcement of quarantine measures, work from home has proven to be more difficult than we thought.

Days have the tendency to blend into one another, as weeks pass by in a blink of an eye.

Luckily, we’ve got a couple tips for you to prepare for your work week ahead. With a little determination and discipline, you can really turn your week around!

Put the phone away

This is easier said than done. While we can argue that we need our phone for emails, calls, and texts, some of us actually use our phone as a means of distraction when we feel like work can be overwhelming.

The solution? Put your phone away and focus on the task at hand. If you can’t bring yourself to part with your device, at least mute all your social media accounts and only take a peek when it’s break time. You’d be surprised to find out the stark difference in productivity!

Reset your attitude

Let’s be honest, most of our aversion to work comes from our mindset. We don’t want to finish things because we would rather do other things, or wait until the last minute. However, a quick look into the why and what for in your work can drastically change the way you go about it.

It’s important to take some time out every once in a while to reevaluate what you’re doing this for to avoid getting lost in the hustle. Setting your values straight and making your goals clear will make working a little less painless every day.

Hear us out, candles really do something! While candles can be known for their calming and soothing effects, some of them have special ingredients that can also help heighten your focus and creativity. Set up your work station and light a candle to see just how much it can help you.

Here’s a list of local candle brands that you can pick from.

Take breaks!!!

Breaks are important. Though it can be tempting to plow through one task after another, it’s also the reason why we get fatigued so easily. Taking breaks gives you a moment to collect yourself and lift all the extra thoughts that are weighing down on your brain.

Establish a routine and trust your own process

Lastly, this one’s a no-brainer. Establish your own personal routine! If you’re a night owl, don’t force yourself to be productive in the daytime. If you find that you don’t work well with a detailed to-do list, don’t make one! People often forget that your work life is led by your rules and that you have the capacity to make this an advantage or disadvantage for yourself.

The most important thing here is that you find the best methods that work for you, not anybody else. Know yourself, know your values, and trust the process that you feel will help you succeed.

At the end of the day, only you can change the way you work.
