But is it really worth the upgrade?
At the Apple Event held on September 7, the tech giant unveiled its latest lineup of releases. One is the second generation AirPods Pro, which has new features that take wireless earbuds to the next level.
So let’s talk about the reasons to cop Apple’s latest release.
Improved Audio Experience
The new H2 chip offers a better audio experience and is now available in the AirPods Pro 2 model. According to Apple, you’ll experience deeper bass and clearer sound across various frequencies.
With the new Adaptive Transparency option, the Airpods Pro reduces loud environmental noise. Essentially, you can expect to better hear the music despite what’s happening around you.
New Touch Sensors
The most recent Airpods Pro will have touch sensors. To increase or decrease the volume on your device, simply move your finger up or down the device. This new feature eliminates the need to use your iPhone or ask Siri a question.
The touch sensors are in addition to the existing force sensors already found in the AirPods Pro. However, the previous generation’s force sensors only allowed you to press on the stems to access play/pause controls and other features.
Apple’s latest earbuds also feature improved battery life. You’ll get up to six hours of listening time with Active Noise Canceling or Adaptive Transparency. The battery may seem similar to the Airpods 3, but the latest Pro features elevate the overall experience.
The Magsafe charging case also got upgraded this year. It can store up to 30 hours of battery life in addition to six hours of listening time. The best thing is that, compared to the AirPods Max, this device provides a beautiful listening experience while being the more portable option.
More ways to charge your wireless earbuds
Apple Watch users will also enjoy upgrading to the Airpods 2nd Generation, particularly ecause you can now charge your case using the same charger that comes with your watch! That’s one less cable you’ll need to carry when traveling.
MagSafe wireless charging case new features
This feature is for you for people who have lost their Airpods or their case one too many times. The Find My app has supported AirPods Pro for over a year, but AirPods Pro 2 takes the app to the next level.
The new U1 chip in the charging case makes the new Airpods Pro like an AirTag. Find My app can now locate your Airpods’ exact location. The charging case also now has speakers. With this, you’re less likely lose your Airpods! And the charging case has holes to fit a lanyard for extra protection.

While the second generation of Apple’s wireless earbuds has new features, it may not be enough for some people to upgrade. But it is important to note that with better audio quality, noise suppression, the Find My app, and charging features, the new Airpods Pro still costs PHP14,990. It’s priced almost the same as the previous generation. And if you are thinking of making the upgrade, it will be available in the Philippines next month.
