Genshin Impact fans, get ready to meet the newest addition to the game’s roster of playable characters – Kirara!
This adorable nekomata hails from Inazuma and wields the power of Dendro. This makes her the first playable character from that region to own this unique ability.
As a human-animal hybrid character, Kirara sports cat ears, two tails, and paws instead of feet. She’s the perfect addition to the already diverse array of characters in the game. Her official title is the “Gold Level Courier of the Komaniya Express,” suggesting that she is agile and quick on her feet, just like a cat.
Early leaks about Kirara’s abilities and name caused confusion among fans, but the official announcement cleared things up.
Kirara’s constellation, Arcella, shares its name with a species of amoeba that thrives in wet conditions. Her Japanese folklore-inspired nekomata origins are sure to make her an exciting new addition to the game.

According to the official Genshin Impact Twitter account, players can wake Kirara up by whispering “you’re gonna be late” in her ear. In battle, she’s said to dash faster than General Gorou.
Her addition to the game’s already vast roster of characters is highly anticipated. Players can expect to see her in update 3.7, which is slated for release in late May 2023.
