This queen is ready to conquer the world stage
Miss Eco International has introduced its candidates from all over the world, including Kathleen Paton, the Philippines’ representative.
In her tourism video published by the Miss Eco International organization, Paton talked about her advocacies: environmental conservation and mental health awareness.
“Due to our geographical location, we are visited by an average of 20 typhoons and storms a year, wreaking havoc wherever it lands. Scientists around the world agree that climate change has a huge impact on typhoons. That’s why my aim as Miss Eco Philippines is to inspire people to join this movement and educate them in saving our planet earth,” says Paton.
The Filipina-Australian beauty isn’t new to pageantry. Before winning the Miss Eco Philippines 2022 crown last October 4, 2021, she was also named Miss Teen International 2017 and Miss Manila 2018.
Who is Kathleen Paton?
Paton lived in Aklan and moved to Australia with her family when she was nine. She first entered pageantry in 2017, when she joined Miss Teen Asia Pacific and became the first runner-up.
The winner represented Australia in Bangkok, Thailand. Even though Paton only finished second, organizers saw her potential. They allowed her to compete at Miss Teen International 2017 as well, albeit as the representative of her mother’s homeland, the Philippines.
She trained under the Kagandahang Flores beauty camp, which produced several Filipino titleholders, including Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco and Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne.
Paton ended up winning Miss Teen International 2017. She then went on to compete in Miss Manila 2018.
After bagging most of the awards in the pageant, she joined Viva Artists Agency.
In 2019, Paton was rumored to be dating actor Derrick Monasterio. The latter eventually confirmed the rumors, although he didn’t mention the beauty queen by name.
Months later, Monasterio admitted that their romance fizzled out because they realized they were not a match, saying their breakup was a “mutual decision.”
Paton is now in a relationship with model Kirk Bondad.
According to her, they’re doing long-distance since Bondad is now in Thailand.
“I feel sad because it’s just out of our control…but I’m so happy I even got the chance to see my boo again! I wish this pandemic would end already ugh!” she writes on Instagram.
The 7th Miss Eco International pageant will be held in Egypt on March 14, 2022. The pageant’s official venue will be Jollie Ville Kings Island, Luxor.
