If you’re one of the many who has to resort to food delivery apps to safely satisfy their cravings during the pandemic, you better brace for this news: LalaFood will be closing down its food delivery service by February 15, 2021.

Through a statement posted on Facebook on Monday, LalaFood announced that they will be ceasing local operations to “redirect [their] focus entirely on [their] core Lalamove delivery services.”

Despite the discontinuation of its food delivery service, Lalamove also expressed its commitment to strengthening its investment in the Philippines in 2021, sharing that plans to further expand in Manila and in the province of Pampanga are already underway.

“…we place great confidence in the Philippine market and we are excited for what lies ahead in 2021. The year is just unfolding and there’s so much in store for us all,” the statement read.

On its website, LalaFood is encouraging users to use up their remaining coupon codes until before their final date of operations on the 15th.

Launched in 2018, LalaFood was started as an incubation project by its parent company, Lalamove. Joining the fray of the already bustling food delivery services in the Philippines, LalaFood set itself apart by guaranteeing a quick “45 minutes or less” delivery time.
