If You Have A Philippine Passport, You Can Go To New Zealand

You can now see Hobbiton in person!

There are a lot of reasons why you should add New Zealand to your travel list. Aside from the scenery, the country is safe even for solo travelers and the people are chill. If you want to experience the Kiwi magic, here’s some good news for you. They have reopened their borders for the first time since the pandemic began. If you have a Philippine passport, you can apply for a visa!

New Zealand implemented strict rules in 2020, but they’re open to tourists again. The New Zealand Embassy in Manila is now accepting visa applications from Filipinos.

How to get a New Zealand visa with a Philippine passport

Filipinos applying for student and tourist visas must provide proof of vaccination. You can check the full guidelines here. Visitors are also required to fill up the New Zealand Traveler Declaration form.

Currently, consular visas are the only ones being issued. You have to prepare your passport first. Don’t forget to double-check the validity of your passport. It should be at least 6 months before your departure date.

You’ll also need a recent digital passport photo of you and proof that you can fund your holiday. A bank statement with enough funds will suffice. They’ll require online payment during your application. You can use a credit card or debit card. Provide an active email address because they’ll send your visa online. Finally, show them your return ticket.
