Korean Stars Who Are So Iconic They Modeled for Soju Brands!

Since soju is Korea’s most famous liquor, it’s only normal that their models are equally popular. Throughout the years, only a handful of female stars have been offered to endorse Korea’s soju brands. Soju models aren’t simply there to look pretty because they also boost soju sales. Because of this, only the best of the best are chosen to model for soju brands.

Since soju models are considered iconic, you’re probably familiar with most, if not all, of them. The most recent one is Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK but let’s take a trip down memory lane to reminisce the iconic models who have graced soju ads!

Lee Hyori

K-pop veteran Lee Hyori is so popular that she’s been dubbed as the “Nation’s Fairy”. Modelling for Chum Churum for over 5 years, Lee Hyori is also one of the longest-serving soju models.

Bae Suzy

Considered as one of the “Nation’s First Loves”, Chum Churum chose Suzy as their model in 2016. Suzy is known for being in the girl group Miss A and for her numerous drama roles.

Irene

Red Velvet’s leader, Irene, modelled for Chamisul in 2019. Chamisul is the most popular soju brand in Korea, and the brand said they chose Irene to better promote to the younger generation.

IU

IUs modelling stint with Chamisul started in 2014 but was cut off in 2018. However, she returned to the brand last year, proving that her popularity as a singer and actress is timeless.

Jennie

The most recent female idol to grace the soju ads is Jennie from BLACKPINK. She succeeds Suzy as the new model for Chum Churum. The brand said they chose Jennie for her “various charms”.
