It goes without saying: Finding a day job now is extremely difficult for most people. With the job market getting more competitive, that’s been the case for a while now. Then came COVID-19 and the recession to make things worse.
Fortunately, there are tons of job search sites out there, but here’s where you can go specifically when these uncertain times require you to take up a few extra projects or a remote job.
As the name suggests, jobs posted here are for remote positions, so you won’t need to use a bunch of search filters to find one you can do from the safety of your own home. From my experience, the platform mostly has full-time job opportunities from around the world. So, if you’re looking for the usual 8-hour workday, this site might just be the one for you.

This can be a bit tricky since it might take a while until you find a group that works for you. In my experience though, I’ve gotten tons of project-based opportunities in Facebook groups dedicated to freelancers and people looking for online work. Many groups don’t just have postings either; you can usually find threads where people share their advice and experiences when it comes to freelancing too.

Websites of Companies You Love
A mistake I’m guilty of when I started job searching was just typing in a position on a job-hunting site’s search bar and hoping a company I like has freelance or remote opportunities. Try going directly to sites of companies you love since not all employers post listings on job sites or actively advertise openings, especially when it’s for a project-based gig. Think of companies that have caught your eye, whether it’s a makeup brand you love or an app you use, and don’t be scared to shoot your shot on their career pages!
