Local Celebs That Are Also Artists

Celebs, we love ‘em. For all the TV shows, movies, and commercials that they feature in, it’s hard to imagine them doing something other than showbiz.

However, it’s a surprise to know that many of our local talents are actually skilled artists. A good number of them even have their artwork showcased in exhibits! Let’s get to know which of our favorite stars have dabbled into the art world.

Everybody knows about Mrs. Escudero’s talent of painting! The actress/socialite/artist and painter made headlines for her colorful canvases that were featured in exhibits at the Ayala Museum, as well as her hobby of hand painting luxury bags.

Ian Veneracion

Veneracion has had some history with art, as his father, Roy, was a painter when he was younger. With various artworks and a number of solo exhibits under his belt, Veneracion maintains that his father is still his biggest influence. “My father taught me to be the best version of myself,” he told Ginebra San Miguel.

John Lloyd Cruz

Fuck Morals, Give Me Your Money by John Lloyd Cruz

Cruz began his foray into art by collecting paintings, sculptures, and cut-outs for his home. Soon, he started participating in exhibitions alongside award-winning Filipino artists like Kaloy Sanchez and Kawayan de Guia. He last attended a Vic Delotavo exhibit in 2018, with his work titled Fuck Morals, Give Me Your Money.

Xian Lim

Is there anything that Xian Lim can’t do? As an actor, model, musician, and artist, it seems that Lim’s talent is overflowing. His paintings have been featured at the 2016 Art Fair Philippines and have gained enough popularity to be showcased in his own solo exhibits False Hope in 2017 and Everything Will Be Okay in 2020.
