This hip bar is making a comeback in Makati’s nightlife scene.
Before the pandemic hit, NoKal was the go-to place for a fun night in Poblacion, Makati. Short for “North of Kalayaan,” it was easily spotted due to its iconic neon pink sign. They introduced a three-floor concept in 2018 to give people more party options. Aside from that, they played good music and served the best booze and munchies. It was every partygoer’s dream. Sadly, it closed due to COVID-19.
But you don’t have to feel bummed about that anymore. NoKal is making a big comeback at Makati Cinema Square’s Basement 1. Now occupying a more spacious area, NoKal can accommodate more patrons, paving the way for bigger parties and other events.
What to expect from the new NoKal
Although they’ve moved to a new area in Makati, they’ve still maintained the spirit their patrons loved. Despite a major revamp complete with VIP areas, it’s still a New York-inspired, cozy, and charming bar.
Partners Jason Soong, Lee Watson, Marco Viray, and Raul Fores came up with some fresh ideas for Nokal’s return. They used their core of experiencing community through promoting Filipino talent, self-expression, and creativity. This new NoKal is an elevated version of everything you’ve missed.
Aside from the new look and location, expect more exciting cocktails such as “Studio 54” (which has a mini disco ball on the glass curated by Bar Specialist Lee Watson) and the classic go-to’s, like the “NoKal Burger,” made famous by Kitchen Consultant Chef Raul Fores.
Find thrill with NoKal’s “Basement Grooves” and their residency night. Expect underground tunes from disco to techno and everything in between once you enter NoKal. Local and international DJs and music artists will show off their impeccable taste in music every night.
