Notorious HQ, better known as HQ, is one of the most popular bars of today. It’s located in the heart of Poblacion at 8464 Kalayaan Ave.
You may have seen HQ party clips on social media, but is it worth your night?
Full disclaimer, I’m not an alcoholic. But I’ve recently been going out more often. I’ve been bar-hopping two or three times a week. So let me give you my thoughts on the James Reid co-owned bar.
The vibe of Notorious HQ
The Notorious HQ isn’t as big as it looks in those TikToks. But it’s big enough for everyone to interact with their peers or someone they just met. The interior is somewhat dark, with matching neon lights.
As you enter the second floor, the first thing you’ll see is the bartender. To your right is a long table in front of a mirror. On your left, is the VIP area with comfy couches.
Aside from the lights, what makes the bar IG-worthy is the presence of celebrity photos on the walls. There’s not much else to say about the bar than it feels exactly like an HQ.
The prices
Compared to other bars, HQ’s drinks are reasonably priced for a bar in Poblacion. They also don’t charge high entrance fees like some bars in BGC. (Cough.)
Shoot their official IG account (@hqpoblacion) a DM to get on the guest list. Don’t forget to arrive before 11:00 PM, or you’ll have to pay the P1000 consumable entrance fee.
The crowd
After multiple visits to HQ, I learned that most of the people who go there are from renowned universities.
The partygoers in HQ are cordial and will interact with anyone past midnight. Another thing I love about it is how safe it feels. You won’t feel unsafe about being out all night long with the bouncers and decent crowd. But of course, you can’t let your guard down.
Aside from the excellent crowd, one more reason to drink at HQ is to meet celebrities and influencers. Stars who frequent HQ include James Reid, Joshua Garcia, Liza Soberano, and Nadine Lustre.
The music
If music is important to you, HQ Poblacion won’t disappoint. They have the best DJs around that play mixes that everyone knows.
HQ also collaborates with different record labels like Careless Music and Good Gang. This means that sometimes you’ll get to watch their artists perform live.
A few weeks ago, Denise Julia rocked HQ by performing her top hit, “NVMD,” in front of the DJ’s booth.
