It’s amazing to think that in the span of a decade or so, majority of society have embraced technologies such as smartphones and other smart devices such as television sets, cleaning equipment and watches. But in the near future, we might even be using smart toothbrushes to clean our pearly whites. Wait, what?
You read that right. In the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, Oral-B (yes, the dental care brand) is going to launch three toothbrushes that give users real-time oral health coaching in the toothbrush’s charging base. With this smart upgrade, you don’t have to bring your phone to your bathroom to find out if you’ve been giving your teeth the right amount of attention.
As per Oral-B’s swanky announcement video, the new iO smart device has the power to monitor your brushing time, pressure, and coverage on your iPhone. Plus, this smart toothbrush features seven different cleaning modes, including daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense, whiten, gum care, and tongue clean.
The iO10 is hailed by the company as the company’s “ultimate oral health coach” connects to the Oral-B app to give your some insights into your brushing habits on its charging base and the warning light on the device itself. So, basically, this fancy new toothbrush can help you take care of your teeth better.
According to SlashGear, aside from this sophisticated new smart toothbrush, Oral-B has also expanded the line with its new iO4 and iO5 electric toothbrush models; both versions offer more than one brushing mode, an LED in the handle that shows when the toothbrush needs a refill, and a two-minute brushing “celebration” alert in the form of a rainbow.
If you’re looking to take your dental care to the next level with the iO10 smart toothbrush, you can sign up for Oral-B’s waitlist. Just a head’s up that Oral-B has yet to disclose the smart toothbrush’s price list. Given all their cool features, expect to shell out some serious moolah for this awesome new smart device.
Will smart toothbrushes be the ‘it’ product of the future? We’ll have to wait and see. It will probably not be smart enough to replace your dentist, but it does have the power to improve your toothbrushing practice. So if you can afford to try out this new smart device, why not, right? Happy teeth time!
