Disney fans, save the date! On October 21, 2021, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will have its grand opening at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort. The grand opening will mark the 50th anniversary since Disney World first opened its doors to parkgoers in 1971.
The sprawling 40m² park (or roughly 103km²) based in Orlando, Florida will include a slew of new attractions in the EPCOT section set in the world of Pixar’s Academy Award-winning animated film Ratatouille.
Expect to see the film’s Parisian magic sprinkled throughout the park as notable staples like Gusteau’s famous restaurant and the Eiffel Tower loom over the Streets of Paris in the park’s expanded France pavilion.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the newest attraction, features a trackless dark ride through Gustea’s kitchen from the point of view of a rat. Guests will be “shrunk down” to the size of Remy and friends and get to ride vehicles throughout the kitchen, all the while surrounded by oversized props and kitchen items.
3D film will also be used on large screens placed throughout the attraction.
The ride, which directly mirrors the already existing Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris, will most likely have a number of changes and adjustments compared to its predecessor.
A new restaurant, La Crêperie de Paris, will also open on October 1, giving customers a chance to taste special crepes, buckwheat galettes, and authentic French hard cider. The restaurant, said to be inspired by the Brittany region of France, will offer both table service and a quick-service window.
While the original opening date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was slated for last summer, plans had been pushed to this October due to complications with coronavirus lockdowns and measures.
Hopefully, all goes well and we’ll get to see the success of the “little chef” play out again this fall!
