Star City Sorry Na

As quickly as it announced their highly-anticipated reopening, popular amusement park Star City postponed their plans due to health and safety concerns brought by the current COVID-19 surge.

“Sorry na. Na-excite lang talaga kaming mag-announce, na-miss kasi talaga namin kayoKaso dumadami ‘yung mga COVID-19 cases so doble ingat muna. Siyempre mahal namin kayong mga guests at employees namin & ‘yung health and safety niyong lahat ang priority ni Star City,” the park’s management said in a Facebook post.

Okay lang ba iusod natin [nang] konti ang opening date? Pramis, ‘pag okay na ang lahat magkikita-kita tayo muli. Sure naMaraming salamat at mag-ingat kayong lahat please,” it added.

The amusement park along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City previously announced its long-awaited return on January 14. The announcement was met with much fanfare as the post garnered over 160,000 reactions and 141,000 shares.

The park’s postponed reopening was publicized on the same day that the Philippines tallied 26,548 new COVID-19 cases — the new all-time high after surpassing the 26,303 cases reported last September 11, 2021.

The park, which boasts of more than 30 different rides and attractions, was forced to shutter in October 2019 after a massive fire razed more than half of its compound past midnight.

In related news, Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna, has likewise decided to “voluntarily suspend its operations” until January 16 for the safety of guests, staff, and cast members.
