The future of cinema is certainly unfolding as we speak. Drive-in cinemas have sprung in cities left and right, and more and more movie houses have moved towards on-demand digital platforms. As the pandemic continues to push the industry towards innovation, it’s only a matter of time until we get to see something that elevates our movie-watching experience.

How’s a float-in cinema for innovation? That’s exactly what McKinley Hill in Taguig revealed last week with the unveiling of the country’s first and only float-in cinema

Launching at the Venice Grand Canal Mall inside the McKinley Hill vicinity, this first-ever Float-In Cinema is set to welcome movie-goers this December. For PhP500 per head, audiences will get to lounge in their own gondola, while watching a movie projected onto a 12.7-meter by 6.7-meter screen across the Grand Canal. The price already includes complimentary popcorns and bottled water, as well as a pair of personal earphones to enjoy the movie with.

Tickets will be available via Megaworld Cinemas’ website. As always, customers are enjoined to wear their masks at all times, maintain their distancing, and opt for contactless transactions. For updates on which movies they will screen, subscribe to Megaworld Cinemas and McKinley Hill on Facebook.
