International Women’s Day is observed every year on March 8th to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality, and support female-focused charities and businesses. But their strength and resilience shouldn’t just be celebrated one day of the year. For your regular dose of women empowerment, follow these local Instagram accounts that are catered towards Filipinas.

Better Filipinas

The account was created a month into the pandemic and advocates for mental health. Through their Zoom dialogues and workshop, they’re able to provide tips on embracing the new normal and be a safe and inclusive space for Filipinas. In January, they also launched their 2021 Journal that inspires living mindfully and manifesting a better year.

She Talks Asia

Co-founded by five amazing women: Bianca Gonzalez, Sarah Meier-Heredia, Iza Calzado, Eleanor Pinugu, and Victoria Herrera who set out to give voice to Asian womxn globally. They’re rallying for equal representation through sparking conversations, documenting stories, and empowering the community online and in real life. Some of their initiatives include “mentorship programs for girls, to post-partum workshops for marginalized mothers.”

Women have long been told to find a man that can provide for them but at this age, women want to be able to sustain their own lives, too. The SheEO Society

Designer and Entrepreneur Maine Uy is a SheEO herself who backs the SheEO Society. Her vision started in an interior design class and has since bloomed into a club “For women with the intent to start her business”. Members of the society are given insights to building their confidence and turning their dream business into reality. They are leading the way for Modern Women Entrepreneurs.

The Female Network

The Female Network has been around for some time, serving as a guide for self-made, career women Filipinas. Being the first Filipino website for women, they pretty much tackle everything from fashion and beauty, to work and money. Although their content is targeted more towards 30-something Pinays, it’s still relevant to any other age group.
