“Black Widow” star Scarlett Johansson has set her sights on starting her own company that will focus on “a clean, accessible approach to beauty.”
The still unnamed beauty brand was developed by Scarlett with Kate Foster, who’s worked with Juicy Couture, NYDJ, and Victoria’s Secret Beauty in the past.
“I met Scarlett almost two years ago. She shared her brand vision with me and right away, I was thinking about how we could turn it into a reality,” Kate told WWD. “It has been an incredible experience working alongside her and we are thrilled to have the support and partnership of The Najafi Companies to help the brand achieve its full potential.”
In the past few years, Scarlett decided to take a step back from her role as an ambassador for other beauty brands to focus on “creating something true” to herself. And as the founder and chairman of her own company, she wants her new venture to have something for everyone.
The 36-year-old actress told Allure: “I created this brand to elevate clean, essential skin care. This will be a brand for everyone who wants their skin to look its best with minimal effort.”
She also said that her interest in beauty and self care started long before she became an endorser of several beauty brands, including L’Oreal Paris.
“I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child. My mother instilled in me a passion for self care from my early teenage years,” she said.
Scarlett’s beauty line, backed by The Najafi Companies, is set to launch in early 2022. Notable brands Pattern by Tracee Ellie Ross, Moon Oral Care, and Florence by Mills were also backed by the same firm.
