Dingdong Dantes is featured on a billboard in New York Times Square!
Dingdong Dantes, touted as the “Kapuso Primetime King,” is introduced as the first Filipino global brand ambassador of global eyewear brand Police Lifestyle.
The latest campaign of the Italian lifestyle brand with Dingdong as ambassador was first unveiled on a digital billboard at New York Times Square.
Aside from Dingdong, F1 Superstar Lewis Hamilton is also one of the new ambassadors of Police.
The campaign, titled #AudacityWanted, is to celebrate 40 years of Police, with the aim to communicate that “being cool goes beyond conforming to norms.”
To celebrate this latest milestone, Dingdong faced select media, including FreebieMNL, for a press launch of the latest Police campaign on Thursday, May 25, at Ideal Vision, SM Mall of Asia.
At the launch, the Kapuso actor wore the latest eyewear that Police released for its 40th anniversary.
During the short Q&A, Dingdong shared what it’s like to have his face on the digital billboard in New York Times Square.
He says with a smile, “Lumaki po ako sa New York, Cubao, pero this time, sabi ko, nandito ako sa Manhattan, New York na!
“So, I’m very very proud to represent the brand, especially on the global stage.”
There were even friends who thought he really did the advertisement with Lewis.
Laughing, Dingdong tells the media, “Kasi my friends thought I really shot the ad with Pareng Lewis.
“Sabi sa akin, ‘Pwede bang ipakilala mo ako kay Pareng Lewis?’ Sabi ko, ‘Sandali lang, hindi pa!’”
But Dingdong and Lewis might actually meet each other soon as Dingdong will be flying to Japan for the global meet of all Police Lifestyle influencers and ambassadors.
He says about this, “Super super excited kasi especially now that we are almost at the peak of shooting ‘Royal Blood,’ so, it’s gonna be a breather for me to take this short trip and at the same time, attend this very very important launching sometime in June.”
According to Thinline Advertising, Dingdong is the first and only Pinoy ambassador of Police Lifestyle.
One of the most notable global endorsers of the brand is David Beckham.
In the past, Police had numerous Hollywood collaborations, including its partnership with international movies such as “Men In Black” with Chris Hemsworth and “Bullet Train” headlined by Brad Pitt.
Currently, Dingdong is busy shooting for his upcoming primetime series, “Royal Blood,” with Mikael Daez, Megan Young, Lianne Valentin, Rhian Ramos, and Tirso Cruz III. He also hosts the nightly game show “Family Feud” and the upcoming singing competition, “The Voice Generations.”
