Throughout the weeks leading up to the premiere of Spider-man: No Way Home, Zendaya has been channeling Marvel superheroes and villains in her red carpet and interview looks. From Dr. Octopus to Venom, the actress has artfully referenced the characters with the help of her longtime stylist Law Roach. Let’s look back at some of her best Spider-man-inspired outfits for the film’s promotion.
The black Roberto Cavalli gown Zendaya wore to the Ballon d’Or 2021 event was truly a statement piece. Though it wasn’t a Spider-man press tour, the golden spine attached to the back of her gown was a reference to Dok Ock. The elaborate back piece was designed to resemble the equipment worn by Dr. Octopus in the film.
Fans believe that Zendaya’s Valentino gold wool sweater that she wore on her Access interview is a nod to Electro’s wicked lightning bolt powers. She paired it with a collared shirt, trousers, and loafers for a smart-casual look.
On The Graham Norton Show, Zendaya wore a Valentino green and purple suit inspired by the Green Goblin. She confirmed the look was a nod to the villain on her Instagram story, captioning the mirror selfie with “Goblin.”
Peter Parker’s Black Suit
The actress walked the red carpet with Tom Holland for the film’s debut in Los Angeles, donning a neutral-colored gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. It was custom-made by Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli and featured an exquisitely embroidered web-like pattern. Her dreadlocks and dewy make-up rounded off the look.
In an interview for Gamespot Universe, Zendaya sported a sand-colored crochet top and silk wrap skirt from Australian fashion brand Kitx. While not that obvious, some think it’s a reference to Sandman, who we get a glimpse of in the official trailer.
Zendaya looked stunning at the London photocall in an oversize blazer dress and bejeweled stocking boots from Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The dark color of her ensemble appears to be a nod to Venom, which was further emphasized by the spider-web-shaped earrings by Jacob & Co.
