In a perfect world, you and your friends would be able to exchange denim pants ala The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Unless you guys have similar body types, there’s a huge chance the jeans won’t fit everyone though.
When it comes to maong, you should wear the cut that’s flattering for your body type. In case you’re clueless about shopping for the perfect pair of jeans, here’s a quick guide to get you started:
- Apple body types (curvy midsection and ill-defined waist) look best in high-waisted, flared jeans. The high waistband allows for opportunity to better define the waist, especially with a tucked in top. You can also try on dark, skinny denim for size.
- Pear-shaped ladies (slender upper bodies and heavier bottoms) look fantastic in bootcut jeans. These are typically tight around the upper thigh area and flared below the knee. Another great cut is trouser-style pants.
- Hourglass figures (tiny waists and a larger bust and hips) can flaunt what they’re made of by donning bootcut jeans. This particular cut flatters your proportions. Another cut to consider is high-waisted denim with a flared leg. These do a fabulous job or showing off your tiny waist line.
- Rectangle shared women (bust, waist, and hips with similar measurements) look fantastic in skinny jeans. You can also opt to wear slouchy boyfriend jeans if you’re looking for something more relaxed. These pairs add slouch and shape to the lower half of the body. Boyfriend optional, of course.
When it comes to shopping for staples like denim jeans, it’s important that you choose cuts that look good on you. You’ll feel more confident wearing a pair that highlights your assets, and you’ll get to wear them for a long time. After all, trends come and go, but style is forever.
