These spring/summer dress collections from Hana Tajima and UNIQLO look effortlessly elegant.
UNIQLO will collaborate with New York-based fashion designer Hana Tajima for its Spring/Summer Dress Collection this year, which is set to drop on April 22. Dresses created through this partnership will focus on elegance, comfort, and cultural diversity with a global perspective.Â
This is Tajima’s first time to work with the global apparel retailer. Born in the UK, she continues to change the way women dress worldwide with her contemporary, functional designs. She earned considerable international attention in recent years for her unique designs, which were inspired by her exposure to diverse environments while growing up.
“A dress should be the simplest thing in the world to wear. A single garment that’s a look in itself, bold and iconic. The subtle details and fabric texture come to life on the body. The prints and colors embody that feeling of vitality,” Tajima says.
Tajima had fun conceptualizing the design and look of each dress. She says, “This collection was an expression of joy and hope. I wanted to create a sense of ease and playfulness.”
The vibrant colors of this collection include deep blue and green inspired by nature. The fabric of the striking dresses is treated with salt shrinking for greater density, and a puffed sleeve design retains a delicate form with lightweight material.
Check out the full collection at UNIQLO Manila Global Flagship Store, UNIQLO SM Megamall. Select items will be available in all stores, but you can also shop at UNIQLO’s online store.
