On September 13, celebrities, models, and the biggest names in fashion flocked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for ‘fashion’s biggest night out’ aka the Met Gala. Traditionally held during the first Monday of May, this year’s fashion extravaganza was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Better late than never, right? The event was canceled last year, and it goes without saying that the internet had a lot of fun checking out the ensembles famous faces donned at the event.
This year’s theme was “American Independence,” and it looked like guests took the ‘independence’ to heart. Here are some of the Met Gala looks the internet can’t stop talking about:
Kim Kardashian showed up in black. Literally all black. The reality star turned business mogul donned an all-black Balenciaga dress designed in collaboration with her ex-husband, Kanye West. Some netizens claimed her outfit reminded them of the Dementors from Harry Potter, while some people said her own sister, Kendall Jenner, couldn’t even recognize her. Hence, the photo above.
