Here are the Met Gala looks that netizens can’t stop talking about

On September 13, celebrities, models, and the biggest names in fashion flocked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for ‘fashion’s biggest night out’ aka the Met Gala. Traditionally held during the first Monday of May, this year’s fashion extravaganza was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Better late than never, right? The event was canceled last year, and it goes without saying that the internet had a lot of fun checking out the ensembles famous faces donned at the event.

This year’s theme was “American Independence,” and it looked like guests took the ‘independence’ to heart. Here are some of the Met Gala looks the internet can’t stop talking about:

Kim Kardashian showed up in black. Literally all black. The reality star turned business mogul donned an all-black Balenciaga dress designed in collaboration with her ex-husband, Kanye West. Some netizens claimed her outfit reminded them of the Dementors from Harry Potter, while some people said her own sister, Kendall Jenner, couldn’t even recognize her. Hence, the photo above.

Although she arrived fashionably late, Rihanna sparked Twitter abuzz with her comfortable black outfit. Some netizens claimed she decided to just wear a comforter then headed to the event.

Can you say extra? Lil Nas X came to the ball wearing three shining shimmering splendid outfits. The rapper wore gold ensembles, and one of which gave people CP30 of Star Wars vibes.

One of the co-chairs of the event, singer Billie Eilish, paid homage to Marilyn Monroe in her Oscar de la Renta ball gown that screamed old Hollywood. Needless to say, she was full of glamour, glamour, and glamour.

As expected, the internet’s collective boyfriend/ Met Gala co-chair Timothee Chalamet understood the assignment and slew in his all-white ensemble. Wearing Aider Hackermann, the internet poked fun at the actor for donning white Converse sneakers.

Kpop soloist turned heads by taking the American staple blue jeans and making it fashion. The singer made sure her Met Gala debut was one to remember.

These are only a few of the looks that sparked a lot of conversation on the web. On theme or not, it looked like celebs had a lot of fun dressing up in the exclusive event.
