Look: Under Armour’s Curry 9 Flow Sesame Street Collection

Stephen Curry is launching another footwear collection with Under Armour, and it’s the most playful one so far. The Curry brand is partnering with Sesame Workshop and creating basketball shoes featuring beloved characters from the children’s television series. This is part of his ongoing efforts to give back to Harlem and inspire young athletes.

The Curry 9 Flow includes seven different colorways, referencing characters from Sesame Street. The Count von Count and Big Bird-inspired shoes will be the first two shoes released from the collection. “Count it” and “Play Big” will be available starting on November 19th.

Following this is Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster-inspired shoes. “Talking Trash,” includes a metallic tongue tab as a nod to his iconic trash can, while “Taking Cookies,” sports a fuzzy, fur-like texture reminiscent of the cookie-loving creature. Release dates have yet to be announced.

“Curry Brand and Sesame Street, we preach the same message. It’s about supporting all kids, especially those in underserved communities who are looking for an opportunity to be their best selves,” Curry told Bleacher Report. “This collection is an opportunity for people to use their imaginations a little bit. You can really show your personality through the way that you play. I love to be creative on the court, trying new things and [showing] different sides of myself. The Sesame Street characters prove that everybody belongs in the world of play,” he added.

This is not the first time Curry is partnering with Sesame Workshop. He and his wife Ayesha Curry have appeared on the show earlier this year to discuss the importance of sharing and having a balanced diet.

The Curry 9 Flow Sesame Street collection retails for $160 (P8,000).
