Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is ready to make waves in the fashion world again, this time by taking part in the 2021 virtual show of Arab Fashion Week (AFW). Not only was she chosen to be part of AFW this year, she was also picked to open the prestigious event happening on March 24 to March 28, 2021. According to the event’s website, “Arab Fashion Week is now considered [as] one of the world’s five most important fashion weeks in the world.”
Pia is making history as she is the first Miss Universe titleholder to join the AFW! She is set to appear in AFW’s short film that will kick-start the event, wearing the designs of Furne One of Amato Couture. Furne One is a Filipino designer who is referred to as the “King of Couture” in Dubai.
“We are excited to announce Pia Wurtzbach will be opening the Arab Fashion Week digital show on March 24. Pia is the first-ever Miss Universe titleholder to be opening a fashion week this huge, so we are all excited for you all to see what we have been working on these past few weeks,” Yugen PR Dubai posted on Instagram.
Fashion in the Middle East
Pia expressed her excitement for all the activities set out for her this year. She said, “The Middle East market is very close to my heart as I have been traveling to that part of the world. I am totally in love with the people and its culture.”

Pia also recently graced the covers of the Dubai-based magazine “XPEDITION” where she wore more designs from Amato Couture. She had a three-day shoot for the 6th Year Special Edition of the luxury magazine, making history by being in not just one, but nine covers.
