The anticipated high street collaboration between Simone Rocha and H&M finally dropped on March 11. Known for her intricate designs and feminine pieces, this collection by the international fashion designer is ethereal and will definitely be making a statement. She also doesn’t forget to pay homage to her Irish and Hong Kong heritage and the community she surrounds herself with, as these inspire the things she does.
About the Collection
Flowy fabrics, puffed sleeves, and pearls are heavily used in this collection, checking off the cottagecore aesthetic that’s been on the rise lately. For Simone, the collection needed to bring femininity, strength, and modernity, as she wants to share her work with people of all ages, sizes, and nationalities. “When I realized that I could be a designer was the way I could actually translate emotion, though perspective, and narrative through clothes,” she says in the announcement of her H&M collaboration.

Fashion for Everyone
This collection is unique for Simone seeing that it will have something charming for the whole family. Usually, the designer focuses on women’s apparel, so this is the first time she’s tackling men’s and children’s fashion. Expect lots of tulle and classic prints like floral and tartan mixed with pastel pinks and blacks. Everything from the clothes to the bags and accessories is cohesive, making styling and layering practically a no-brainer.

Signature Pieces
Some of the signature pieces to look out for women are the pink outerwear tweed coat, the day dress with Broderie Anglaise detailing, and a special fil coupe floral dress. More casual pieces are also included like spongy hoodies and joggers, and jersey t-shirts embellished with pearls. Menswear will feature wardrobe essentials with that Rocha touch, like a trench with pearl embellishments on the collar, a parka, Aran knits and cardigans, and co-ords. The children’s apparel is fashioned after the adult’s selection, with miniature versions of the classic smocks and frill dresses.
