Check out these playful prints and hues!
UNIQLO isn’t about to stop collaborating with talented designers from all over the world anytime soon. In addition to their 2022 Spring/Summer collection, the Japanese global retailer partnered with French designer Sophie Mechaly, who founded Paul & Joe, to make more light designs for this season.
In the film adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, Runway magazine’s acerbic, demanding, yet startlingly talented editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (who was played by the incomparable Meryl Streep) made a snide remark about florals not being groundbreaking enough for spring.
While that may be true, since florals and spring have been inextricably linked for the longest time, UNIQLO made sure their new collection is anything but boring. So if you’re into cats, flowers, and other cute things, check out their new pieces. You’ll definitely have lots of designs to choose from.
When asked about her creative process, Mechaly says, “For this collection, I used my two beloved cats as motifs, and the production process was a lot of fun. In line with UNIQLO’s LifeWear philosophy, I hope to make everyone happy through my clothes. I hope this collection will give people worldwide the pleasure of enjoying fashion.”
The collection will be under UNIQLO’s UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) lineup. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be diverse. The collection also includes dresses, scarves, bags, and other accessories. Also, babies’ bodysuits are included for the first time, which offers fun for infants and style-conscious parents alike.Â
Since it’s relatively safer to go outside these days, you can view the complete lineup in UNIQLO’s Manila Global Flagship Store and their SM Megamall branch. Select items are now available in all UNIQLO stores nationwide. They also have a website if you prefer online shopping.
