The Skypod 2.0 is a Minimalist’s Dream Home

Engineer and ex-PBB housemate, Slater Young, is working on project development, and it’s a minimalist’s dream home. Monterrazas Prime is located within the heart of Cebu, with stunning views of the ocean and a luscious mountainous backdrop. It’s inspired his own home, as well as Singaporean architecture, which is why it’s dubbed the Skypod 2.0.

Skypod on Steroids

The project took two years before coming to fruition. More than the home’s aesthetic, Slater also considered minute details like the location of power outlets. That’s how much of a perfectionist he is. Everything is well-thought-of, taking no shortcuts to ensure it’s a high-quality construction.  It was designed by LLG Architects, the same team that helped with the original Skypod. His wife, Kryz Uy, describes it as Skypod on steroids.

Luxurious and Inviting

The most noticeable difference between the Skypod and the Monterrazas Prime is the latter has a balcony with an infinity pool. Slater applied all the learnings from building his own home in the luxurious project and up to his standard. Materials like the Kenneth and Mock sliding doors to the imported kitchen hardware and quartz countertop make the home feel refined. Stunning views greet you from the moment you step through the main door thanks to the indoor/outdoor living. And because it’s visually a floating home, it resembles a mountain resort.

“We wanted a design that you can make into your own, which speaks to you and your personality,” Slater shares. The open design was a deliberate choice, serving as a blank canvas for homeowners to decorate and furnish as they please. Whether you prefer French countryside, Victorian, or a Bali-inspired interior, it will mold perfectly into the space. Closets, fixtures, and aircon are already included, so it’s move-in ready once construction is complete.

Take a Virtual Tour

In his vlog about the Skypod 2.0, he takes viewers on a virtual tour. The three-story home consists of a basement, a ground floor that directly faces the pool, and the upper floor, where all the bedrooms are located. His favorite part of the house would be the basement because the space is convertible. A few ideas are a man cave, home gym, and theatre room. Each bedroom boasts views of the city, which can also be enjoyed from the bathtub.

As of writing, the Monterrazas Prime model unit is still under construction.  It’s a minimalist home that anyone would want to live in someday, that even Ms. Kryz herself is having thoughts of moving here.
