What to Expect at the Re-opening

Even before the pandemic halted operations of several leisure establishments in the Philippines, the Ayala Museum closed for renovations in June 2019. Per their Facebook post, visitors can check out five new galleries on opening day and get a preview of the improved museum and gallery.

The “Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines” and “Landscape into Painting: Fernando Zobel Serie Blanca” are two featured exhibitions ready for viewing. Both will be displayed through December 31, showcasing over 200 objects and artworks.

In the coming months, Ayala Museum will unveil the rest of its galleries.

A Modern Place for Learning

In addition to the displays, Ayala Museum has also installed a Digital Gallery in the lobby. The interactive panels allow visitors to traverse through art and history with ease. It’s the first of its kind in the Philippines and consists of eight wide screens. Visitors can also access online-exclusive content on their newly launched website and app.

Scholars who missed the Filipinas Heritage Library will be glad to know that the repository is also doing a soft opening on December 4. The remodeled library is located on the 6th floor and is home to thousands of archives, manuscripts, and other Filipino books. And thanks to the warm interiors, it’s now more conducive for research and study.
