Explore Intramuros from the safety of your home with these virtual tours

Intramuros is the place to be if you want to get to know a bit of our past. Once you step into the walled city of Manila, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the Spanish colonial period. The historical structures and the occasional kalesa passing by are enough to immerse yourself in the past. There are also a number of historical museums to explore.

It’s Museums and Galleries Month 2020 but museums and galleries are still closed due to the ongoing pandemic. However, there are activities for you to explore online like virtual tours of museums. Thanks to the Intramuros Administration, you can explore the walled city from the safety of your home.

If you want to experience some areas in Intramuros with a tour guide, they have Intramuros Virtual Tours which you can find in the Intramuros Administration’s YouTube channel. As of now, they have tours for Casa Manila, Baluarte de San Diego, Fort Santiago, and Museo de Intramuros. As you watch, you’ll learn a lot from the tour guide bringing you along the virtual tour.

If you’re looking to virtually explore more areas in Intramuros, Intramuros Administration partnered with Google Arts & Culture to bring you views from 17 areas in the walled city. You can fully immerse yourself in Intramuros by going to the Intramuros Administration page in Google Arts & Culture. Aside from the virtual walkthroughs, you can also take a close look at some of the exhibition pieces they uploaded online.
