Fun and sustainability in one!
Scalding fun and sustainability merged in one as Globe Group and Aklan LGU teamed up for one ecological cause through the island’s celebrated return of Love Boracay, which was held on April 28 to May 1, 2023.
The collaboration bred out various ecological calls, which asked island guests and party goers to practice conservation efforts in hopes of bringing a greener Love Boracay this 2023.
Rooted from Globe’s core of supporting Boracay’s environmental movement, it held various activities at the Globe Eco Station at the island’s Station 1 beachfront.
The notable events were:
Plastics for a prize
Pick plastic, spin the reward wheel, win exciting prizes! That’s how easy it was with Globe’s initiative of reducing single-use plastic bottles, plastic cups, cans, and plastic bags. In as simple as picking up trash, presenting the GlobeOne app, and showing proof of a registered SIM, vacationers had the chance to create a more sustainable environment all while enjoying the prizes that came with it.
Plant trees without tilling the soil! This is all possible with Globe’s GForest initiative wherein actual trees are planted in exchange for points accumulated through platform transactions. Be it just a simple load top-up or a bill settlement, one had its fair share of steps towards a greener and healthier Boracay and Philippines.
Globe At Home cash giveaway
Five thousand pesos was extremely easy money with snap-a-photo activity! All that was required from participants was to take a quick photo at the Globe At Home photo wall and upload it on social media for others to see. The photo with the highest number of likes and shares, of course, bags the cash.
Globe and KonsultaMD essentials
It rained heavy loots! Sure, no one would score beach and health essentials as quick and easy as Globe’s giveaway. Just a simple Globe One app download or sim registration was enough to bag amazing freebies, including medicine vouchers and vitamin packs.
Globe Group and Aklan LGU: An eco-llaboration
More than its call for a more eco-friendly vacation, Globe did not let the excitement dwindle as it hosted the Boracay Sportsfest in quadruple-event competitions. Tennis, frisbee, volleyball, and soccer competitions set the beachfront ablaze, culminating in a festive sunset awarding ceremony that featured local disc jockeys and bands.
Globe has a long illustrious history of support for Boracay’s environmental causes. In the past, it participated and even hosted offshore clean-up drives, coral reef rehabilitation, effluent mitigation, and youth and community mobilization.
