Here are reasons to visit the “Fragrant Harbour.”
Hong Kong recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment as a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The theme of the celebration was “A New Era—Stability, Prosperity, and Opportunity.” It captured the spirit of Hong Kong’s milestones, remaining congruent with its desire to stay as a country with two systems.
Members of the press were invited to an event at the Grand Hyatt Manila last October 12, where they unveiled some of their plans for tourism. They also showed off what Hong Kong has to offer via an exhibit at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay, which ran from October 14 to 16. While it has been a favorite tourist spot for quite some time, here are some things that might entice you to visit the wonderful land of Hong Kong.
A clean, green, and healthy city
Hong Kong was able to cherish its natural resources while keeping pace with technology’s rapid growth. They plan to combat climate change by achieving a carbon-neutral economy.
A safe and vibrant global village
Undoubtedly, the “Fragrant Harbour” is an ultra-modern city. It is a melting pot of people that live in a mixture of contemporary and vintage Chinese architecture. It also is home to great outdoor destinations like theme parks that one will surely enjoy. These, of course, are just near the city.
Exciting gastronomic treats
Expect a variety of food that will satisfy your cravings—a diverse experience of a feast of flavors.
Festivals for all seasons
Hong Kong fuses culture from all walks of life. It also celebrates Eastern and Western festivals like Chinese New Year, Christmas, Halloween, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Oktoberfest, and Valentine’s Day. Traditional festivals such as the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival are also celebrated.
Some tourists might worry about getting lost because of the language barrier, but that’s not a problem. English and Chinese are their primary languages, which are also staples in the private and public sectors.
