S-Pass makes traveling hassle-free with a quick scan of a QR code by the authority at checkpoints. It was developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in partnership with various government agencies to efficiently manage the mobility of travelers. Each LGU has its own travel policy, so it’s best to check out the travel requirements before crossing provincial.
The newly developed Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage app, or S-Pass, was launched on March 26, 2021, for convenience during the quarantine period. Unlike the typical QR codes used in malls, this is a travel management system and not a contact tracing app.
Filipino local workers, Returning Overseas Filipinos (RFOS), local tourists, and those who need to travel from one province should apply for an S-Pass before their departure.
Children 9 years old and below do not need to create an S-Pass account. However, they will still need an approved travel permit. Parents or legal guardians may apply for one using their account.
In case your request is still pending after 24 hours, contact your destination LGU to follow up on the TCP approval.
