Maine Mendoza wanted to make her overseas trip a bit more memorable by getting a haircut, but regret followed almost instantly after feeling dissatisfied with her new look.
The 29-year-old celebrity host knows much about regret and had learned it the hard way through a botched haircut—as expressed on her X (formerly Twitter) post on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
She tweets (published as is), “When you are in a foreign country and you make a spontaneous decision to get a haircut at a well-known hair salon for the [sparkle emoji] experience and spontaneity [sparkle emoji] only to regret it later. [teary eyed emoji]”
Maine has previously rocked short hair well and good, but this time was different as it turned out shorter than expected.
In response to a fan who suggested that Maine should just wait for it to grow back, she writes, “I like my short coz it’s so light (but not this short ha), and tbh I don’t think magpapahaba pa ako ever [peace sign]”
Revealing that she has already lamented her new look, fans then flocked in the thread to offer their comfort and sympathy.
“Alam ko po iniyakan ko na nga diba [teary-eyed emoji],” Maine writes in response to a netizen who comments “ang iksi na kasi ng hair mo!”
One user writes, “Aww it’s okay, Maine. You’ll get the hang of it. I’ve had many regretful short haircuts which turned out to be a pleasure to maintain.”
Another reply reads, “Can’t wait to see your new look… Definitely you’ll look stunningly beautiful.”
Maine has not officially posted a photo of her new haircut yet, and no one knows if she will ever get to publicize it amid her dissatisfaction. But regardless, fans are still excited to see Maine with her brand-new hairdo.
Maine is married to Arjo Atayde. The couple met in 2018 and have finally tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in Baguio in July 2023. They are looking forward on having a child, as hinted by Maine during her 29th birthday celebration in “Eat Bulaga!”
