Zendaya Almost Joined H.E.R. And Kehlani In A Band

H.E.R., Zendaya, and Kehlani together in one band? The power.

In an interview on “The Carlos Watson Show,” Grammy Award-winning singer H.E.R. revealed that this almost happened when they were younger.

“We used to perform together when we were really young and Kehlani actually was in our band. We all used to sing together. Zendaya was going to be in it at one point. But yeah, they all grew up together,” she said.

Both Kehlani and Zendaya were born and raised in Oakland, California, and attended the Oakland School for the Arts. Meanwhile, H.E.R. was born in Vallejo, California, and eventually met the other two artists when she went to Oakland. “I came into the picture in Oakland and we used to perform together,” she said.

Aside from Kehlani, Dylan Wiggins was also part of their band. “Dylan Wiggins, who is D’wayne Wiggins‘ son from Tony! Toni! Toné!–we used to be in a band together.”

Kehlani and Dylan were joined by Jaden Wiggins, Dillon Ingram, Denzel Merritt and Ali-Khan Lochin as main members of the band. Back in 2011, the group joined the sixth season of “America’s Got Talent” as Poplyfe. They even performed with Stevie Wonder in the grand finals, where they placed fourth overall.
