From ‘kingslayers’ to the new kings of MPL-PH!

Season nine of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines (MPL-PH) is over. RSG PH, the first foreign-owned team, became the league’s new kings. The finals took place at the SMX Convention Center on May 4. With RSG PH coming off victorious in a best-of-seven series against Smart Omega, it was a sight to see.

RSG is an organization based in Singapore. It aims to be a leader in the Asia-Pacific region when it comes to esports and gaming. During the match, RSG PH’s “Light” made a risky dive into the enemy base, trapping Smart Omega’s Renzio. After that, there was no way they could’ve lost the fight. High risks indeed yield high rewards as the team secured the season nine crown.

With a score of 4-1, the kingslayers triumphed over the Kings of Southeast Asia. RSG PH’s Exp-laner Nathanael Estrologo was the Grand Final MVP. He performed well in the playoffs.

“In previous seasons we were the kingslayers. Now, we are the kings. We’ve done our part here in the Philippines, and for the MSC, we’ve only just begun. I’m proud of this team,” said Coach Brian “Panda” Lim in a post-match interview.

The battle was legendary. From killer ganks to deadly flanks, RSG PH vs. Smart Omega was an absolute GG! Both teams will represent the country at the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022 in June.
