This is everyone’s reminder that the magazine now caters to men’s and women’s sexual wellness.
Halloween hype is making headway once again, and there’s no better person to herald the spooky szn than Bretman Rock himself, who graces the digital cover of Playboy Magazine for the first time, a landmark feat not only for the LGBTQIA+ community but for brown-skinned minorities as well.
Donning the iconic Playboy Bunny suit, the 23-year-old influencer joins the likes of Steve Martin, Ezra Miller, and Paul Rudd — male-identifying stars who have worn the suit in the past.
“I’m a BUNNY duh!!” Bretman writes under his post on Instagram.
For Playboy to have a male on the cover is a huge deal for the LGBT community, for my brown people community and it’s all so surreal,” Bretman told Playboy. “A total ‘is this even fucking happening right now?’ type of vibe. And I’m so pretty.”
Bretman’s feature on Playboy’s digital cover counts towards Playboy’s plan last October to pivot into a wellness brand for men and women. Historically known for featuring scantily clad female sex symbols to full-frontal nudity on its covers, the publication has now repackaged itself to espouse diversity and inclusivity, with transgender women posing for its German and Mexican edition for the first time.
“Playboy has always been game-changing, forward-thinking, and progressive, and is positioning the bunny costume open to all genders and body-types, having Bretman as the forefront,” the publication also shared.
