Megan Thee Stallion is now a Hot Girl Graduate

Megan Thee Stallion went from Hot Girl Summer to Hot Girl Graduate.

After studying college part-time while building her lucrative rap career, the “Savage” rapper announced that she will obtain her undergraduate degree from Texas Southern University this year. The good news was shared on her Instagram, where she held out a bedazzled graduation cap with the words “Real Hot Girl Sh*t.”

What inspired Megan to pursue her education?

In 2020, she told PEOPLE that it was her mom who inspired her to continue her education.  “I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed,” Megan said. Her mother, Holly Thomas, died in 2019 after battling brain cancer.

The TSU graduate also mentioned how her grandma encouraged her to get a degree. “My grandmother that’s still alive used to be a teacher, so she’s on my butt about finishing school. I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today,” she said.

What degree did Megan Thee Stallion graduate with?

Megan pursued a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration. She’s been attending part-time online classes at Texas Southern University for the past three years. “I really wanted to be an administrator over a hospital, but I knew I still wanted to be Megan Thee Stallion. I was like, ‘What can I do?’” said the artist.

The 26-year-old rapper has always been candid about balancing her career and college on social media. And now, all the stress and hard has paid off. “2021 finna graduate collegeeee 😛 taking my graduation pics today 😭I can’t wait for y’all to see,” she captioned her Instagram post.

To give back to the community, she hopes to assist fellow TSU classmates in finding their first job post-graduation.
