Who knew we would be entering 2022 with a robot that’s ready to serve coffee and donuts? While fast-food chains like McDonald’s are adapting modernization systems like their NXTGEN kiosks, Dunkin PH is bringing to us Number 1. It’s the company’s first-ever service bot, which handles order distribution in select locations across the country.
Dunkin PH introduced Number 1 on new year on its social media pages. Along with its debut, they demonstrated how the robot can help improve the service in the food and beverage industry. Here’s how you can meet and interact with the first Dunkin’ robot in the Philippines.
In 2018, Dunkin’ Donuts shortened its name to just Dunkin’ and made significant modifications in its stores. The rebranding included automation moving forward, which the vice president of strategic Dan Wheeler revealed at that time. Customers should be able to “order through a robot and let a human make the coffee,” he added.
It might have taken a while for those changes to be implemented in the Philippines, but it’s exciting that they’re finally rolling them out in select stores. FYI, these machines aren’t meant to replace human employees but to streamline the process for crew members. And with the coronavirus still around, it’s a measure to lessen contact between people.
Experience a unique Dunkin’ dine-in service when you visit one of the three locations where Number 1 is available: Aurora (Quezon City), SM North EDSA, and Robinsons Nova.
