Sweet meets savory: Ate Rica’s Bacsilog turns into a frosty treat in this new mash-up

Getting a brain freeze while eating bacon is now a possibility.

Whether you’re a weary weekday warrior, a college student on a budget, or just someone who likes to binge on breakfast food at any time of the day, Ate Rica’s Bacsilog is always a welcome treat for the hungry tummy. Within its wallet-friendly servings are all the energy you need to get through the workweek: a hot scoopful of rice, a generous heap of meat (preferably bacon!), and a helping of hot, melted cheese — a power meal in a paper cup.

It’s good as a full-course feast, but is it any good as a dessert? That’s a question that The Lost Bread is eager to answer. Introducing the result of the famous confectioner’s recent collaboration: the Cheesy Bacon Ice Cream and the Cheese Sauce Ice Cream, inspired by flavors by Ate Rica’s Bacsilog!

For the bacon lovers out there, The Lost Bread’s Cheesy Bacon Ice Cream is the perfect way to cap off your cookout. It’s made with a creamy milk ice cream base mixed with candied bacon bits and Ate Rica’s signature cheese swirl.

But if you want a no-frills frosty treat, go for the Cheese Sauce Ice Cream instead. It ditches the bacon bits and replaces it with Ate Rica’s cheese chunks and the same swirl of cheese mixed into a milk ice cream base for an overloaded taste of the good, gooey stuff.

Both limited-edition flavors sell for P250 a pint. You can order yours through The Lost Bread’s webstore.

In a world where ramen-flavored soda and buffalo wings-flavored dessert (which is from the same store, mind you) now exist, a brain freeze-inducing bacsilog dessert is definitely not one to surprise us. We’re still curious as to how this cold delight fares though!
