2022 marks a fresh start, and a lot of people are already working on their New Year’s resolutions. It’s easy to stick by your goals a week or two into the year, but then some people end up losing motivation. They end up scrapping their resolutions altogether.
While it can be challenging to stick by your New Year’s resolutions, it’s not entirely impossible. As per INC, here are some hacks for you to make your vision of success a reality:
Set smart goals
It’s not enough to simply set vague goals for the year. According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, your goals should be SMART:
Write down your goals
You shouldn’t just carry your goals for the year in your head. You should make it a habit to write down your goal regularly to remind yourself of what you have to do. Then, you should post those reminders in areas where you can easily see them.
Share your list with others
Aside from writing down your goals on paper, you should consider sharing them on social media as well. Making a public commitment will help motivate you to follow through with your goals. Just make sure to be careful about the content you’re sharing. You wouldn’t want your grandmother to know about your…intimate goals.
Get support from other people
It can be challenging to take on your professional or personal goals alone. That’s why you should seek encouragement from friends and family. Aside from moral support, you should also consider getting professional help from those who can help achieve your goals. For example, if you want to lose some weight, you can get a personal trainer.
Celebrate your milestones
Achieving your goals will be a lengthy process, and that’s why you should celebrate when you reach certain milestones. For example, if you managed to shed 10 pounds, you should treat yourself with new trainers or sports apparel. What matters is that your reward doesn’t hinder you from reaching your goals.
It can be incredibly rewarding to achieve some professional or personal growth. However, the process will not be easy. By applying these hacks, you have a better chance of coming through with your goals.
