Natural Hair Masks You Can Make at Home

Who ever said that you had to go to the salon for a moisturizing, rejuvenating hair mask?

There are actually a lot of ingredients that you can use at home to achieve the same salon-perfect effect. With natural ingredients like honey, avocado, and egg, you can have beautiful, luscious hair from the comfort of your bathroom. Have a look at the hair masks you can try out!

For dry hair

If your hair is too brittle or dry, you can never go wrong with a little honey, egg, and apple cider vinegar. Just put a teaspoon of each in a bowl, mix it up, and leave it on your locks for about 30 to 40 minutes.

It’ll provide your hair with the moisture it needs, nourishing it and keeping it nice and shiny.

For flaky scalps

Get rid of the flakes with a cool mixture of raw unrefined coconut oil (2 tbsp.), raw sugar (4 tsp.), peppermint oil (5 drops), and tea tree oil (2 drops). Once you’ve produced your scrub, apply it directly to clean, damp hair in the shower. Massage thoroughly for 3 minutes and let it sit while you shower.

The sugar dissolves dead skin cells, while peppermint oil helps promote circulation to the scalp!

For greasy hair

Sometimes, we can’t avoid having greasy hair. Remedy the problem by combining one egg white and juice from half a lemon. Once mixed, apply it from root to end and leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour before rinsing with lukewarm water.

The egg whites have protein enzymes that’ll help remove all the excess oil in your hair.

For irritated scalps

Itchy scalp? Try out a combination of green tea (1 cup), peppermint oil (2 drops), and apple cider vinegar (1 tbsp.). Make sure to mix it well and massage it into your scalp; leave it on for five minutes before rinsing it out.

Green tea, aside from being super healthy for your body, also helps to calm and rebalance irritated scalps. Peppermint oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe dry scalps.

For damaged hair

For those who regularly use heat to style their hair, this mask is the one for you. Use half an avocado, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. of olive oil, and 1 tbsp. of honey to make your hair mask and apply the mixture to wet hair. Then, wrap your hair up in a shower cap and blow-dry the shower cap-covered hair for 10 minutes to activate the ingredients. Let it sit for another 20 minutes before rinsing out.

The olive oil and avocado are rich with omega-3 fatty acids, meaning that your hair will get the ultimate boost. Expect to see a lot more shine and strength in your strands after using this mask!
