Attention aspiring Ateneans: Ateneo cancels entrance exams for SY 2021-2022

Millions of students all over the Philippines are adjusting to the new normal of education. Online classes are now the norm for those who have started while the Department of Education is still figuring out how the incoming school year will play out for all.

One such change the new normal has introduced is the cancellation of college entrance exams. The University of Santo Tomas cancelled theirs, and now Ateneo de Manila University recently announced the suspension of the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) for the school year 2021-2022.

As a replacement for the entrance exam, the admissions process will include a review of the aspiring student’s academic and non-academic performance, their class rankings, admission essay, and recommendations from teachers.

We know there is a lot going on and we don’t want to create more unneeded drama and stress,” ADMU’s announcement on social media said. “Times are evolving but our commitment to academic excellence and formation has not changed.”

If you’ve always wanted to become an Atenean, their online application went live on September 1. You have until December 1 to apply so go and check out the full admission requirements at apply.ateneo.edu/college.
