Gerald: “Alam ko na marami silang mapapasaya na mga fan nila”
Gerald Anderson gives his all-out support to girlfriend Julia Barretto who is set to headline a reunion film with ex-beau Joshua Garcia.
Joshua and Julia—known to fans as JoshLia—are set to reprise their on-screen tandem for the romance-drama film “Un/Happy For You” to be directed by director Petersen Vargas.
As teased via a New Movie Alert event on April 25, 2024, the storyline will revolve around two exes who are both burdened with a painful past and unresolved issues.
In line with this, Julia says the story will draw inspiration from their real life experiences—making it a “painful and hopefully healing” visual treat for many audiences.
When asked about his opinion on the comeback movie of his girlfriend, Gerald remains in the affirmative side of the prospect.
In a teaser video released by Cinema One on April 30, 2024, he says, “It’s exciting, it’s exciting para sa mga fan nila. I’m not sure ilang years ago sila huling nagkasama, but I’ve been in that situation.
“Alam ko na marami silang mapapasaya na mga fan nila. They’re both great actors so alam natin na magiging quality yung ipapalabas nilang proyekto.”
Julia and Joshua’s reunion film is slated for release this 2024 under the production of Star Cinema and VIVA Films. It follows their last film “Block Z” in 2020.

Gerald Anderson as a supportive boyfriend to Julia Barretto
The 35-year-old actor seems well and secure with any project that Julia endeavors on. This is very evident in how he fully supports the actress in her film “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko” with Aga Muhlach.
Gerald made an appearance during the premiere night of Julia’s film in February 2024. Just after a series of photos with the press, Julia went straight to her boyfriend in a seeming appreciation of the latter’s attendance.
According to Julia, Gerald is ever-affirming—which is also particularly true when Julia headlined the cover of a liquor brand as a calendar girl for 2024.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Buhay “ on February 6, 2024, Julia says, “He’s always supportive as long as comfortable ako sa ginagawa ko. As long as feeling niya masaya naman ako.
“I think ang pinaka-request niya lang is ‘yung sana tastefully, gracefully pa rin siya gagawin. The same request from my family, my siblings, and si Mommy [Marjorie Barretto].”
