Elizabeth Olsen Hints At Her MCU Comeback As Scarlet Witch

Is she really coming back?

Elizabeth Olsen last played Wanda Maximoff in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Now, the actress speaks on if she’ll return to the character.

Last time moviegoers saw Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Wanda Maximoff, in the MCU, she was dealing with the aftermath of the events in the Disney+ series “WandaVision.” She had to face the loss of her loved ones and confront her grief and trauma.

Ever since Wanda seemingly perished at the end of “Doctor Strange 2,” fans speculated whether she survived the destruction of Mount Wungadore. The nexus being that she is, it is likely that she survived.

Olsen, however, has offered some confirming comments on the idea of her returning to the role.

At Comfest Con in February, she hinted at her character’s return in the franchise. In September 2023, the actress told Variety about her desire to redeem the character from her faults in “Multiverse of Madness.”

The longtime Marvel star has again commented on a possible comeback in her MCU role. Olsen spoke about the possibility of returning to her fan-favorite character in an interview.

While she expressed uncertainty in how to answer the question, she teased that she may be coming back.

When asked if Wanda Maximoff will appear in “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” she says, ” I don’t know ever how to answer these questions, except I don’t… I think I’ll be back…”

“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” is one of the Disney+ series projects slated under MCU’s Phase 5. It would make sense to see Wanda back since she put Agatha Harkness, the villain from “WandaVision,” in a hex spell.
