BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has begun shooting the music video for her solo debut! According to YG Entertainment’s statement on February 21, 2023, the solo track that Jisoo is filming abroad will be worth the wait.
“It is worth anticipating as we invested the highest production cost of all BLACKPINK videos to date,” YG says in a statement reported by Soompi.
Jisoo’s stans excitedly welcomed the news and immediately made “JISOO” a trending topic on Twitter Philippines.
YG earlier said Jisoo would make her solo debut this year but has yet to give a specific date.
Jisoo, 28, is the last member of the group to release her own music, following Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. Recall that the group’s leader Jennie debuted her solo track in 2018 while Rosé released her “-R” solo album in March 2021. Meanwhile, Lisa dropped her solo album “Lalisa” in September 2021.
YG initially hinted on Jisoo’s solo track on January 2, 2023, noting that it will happen this year.
The agency stated, “BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is currently working hard on recording her solo album. While carrying out a busy world tour schedule since last year, she finished the album jacket photo shoot and worked on music production whenever she got the time in order to keep the promise with fans. She will greet [fans] soon with good news.”
BLACKPINK is currently on the world’s largest scale girl group concert tour “BORN PINK,” attracting about 1.5 million fans around the world.
After successfully completing 14 concerts in North America and 10 concerts in Europe last year, they greeted more fans throughout Asia.
The “BORN PINK” world tour will make a stop at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on March 25 and 26, 2023.
BLACKPINK is also set to perform as one of the headliners at Coachella in the United States in April 2023, as well as the British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park in London, United Kingdom in July 2023.
