Friends Reunion Shows Off Big Guests; BTS, Lady Gaga, and More Expected to Appear

The one with all the big-time stars! Fans of the classic 90s sitcom Friends can expect a huge reunion special this month, along with plenty of celebrity guests.

Last Thursday, a trailer for the much-anticipated Friends reunion was released (shared by none other than Jennifer Aniston herself), showing the original cast with their backs facing the camera, walking off together to the sound of a mellowed down version of the show’s popular theme song, “I’ll Be There For You.”

Friends, which first aired in 1994, revolved around a group of young friends in their 20s and 30s, going through everyday life in Manhattan, New York. The sitcom is widely considered to be one of the best TV shows of all time, with many fans having pushed for a reunion special since the show’s finale in 2004, around 17 years ago.

Recently, the show unlocked a new fan base when it became available on streaming platforms.

Now, many Friends enthusiasts are excited for the reunion of the show’s six original main characters, Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Ross (David Schwimmer), Monica (Courteney Cox), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow).

Along with the original cast is the promise of exciting celebrity guests. Big names like David Beckham, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Lady Gaga, and K-pop group BTS are just some of a long list of A-list guests set to appear on the show.

While we’re not sure what exactly these guests will be doing, we do know the reunion special is supposed to be an hour-long, unscripted event.

Friends: The Reunion was filmed last month, a year late due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Interestingly enough, filming took place on the original soundstage on the Warner Bros lot in Burbank, California.

You can catch the once-in-a-lifetime reunion on May 27, on streaming service HBO Max.
