Champorado, a concoction of chocolate, milk, and rice, is usually served hot with a side of tuyo or dilis. But if you still want to enjoy this Filipino breakfast and merienda favorite even though the weather is starting to get hot, then maybe you should try its ice cream version!
Elait!, a local brand that sells handcrafted ice cream and yogurt, introduced a new flavor just in time for the summer: Champorado Ice Cream.

The new flavor is “made with rich bittersweet chocolate, luscious milk powder, and rice crispies for that extra crunch,” Elait! said. Now, you don’t have to wait for colder days to enjoy champorado.
Aside from Champorado, Elait! has other flavors such as Creme Brûlée, Chocolate Overload, Strawberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, MGCQ (Mango Graham Caramel Quezo), Vanilla, and Soy Sesame.
Elait! aims to do “good through good food.” One way they do this is by giving employment opportunities to our local deaf community.
Elait!’s founder and CEO, Francis Carl Reyes, was recently included in the Gen T. Leader of Tomorrow list by Tatler Asia for his impact in the food and beverage industry. His businesses, Elait! and Overdoughs, currently have over 70 deaf partners, and they’re looking to hire more employees with autism and down syndrome.
It doesn’t stop there–aside from giving them jobs, he also offers training and leadership opportunities because he truly believes in their capabilities.
Support local businesses and support our PWD community! You can order a pint of ice cream (P349) through Elait!’s website, or have them delivered via GrabFood or Foodpanda.
