Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte
The true gem is actually in Halabang Baybay, or Long Beach, along the west coast of Tinaga Island, part of the Calaguas Islands. Withstand the Pacific waves en route and Calaguas will greet you with cream-white beaches and clear, turquoise waters.
Go island-hopping and visit the Heins rock formations in Balagbag, or hike the island’s hill to get to the perfect vantage point.
Panglao Island, Bohol
Time to dive the depths of Panglao Island in Bohol, home to more than a dozen dive and snorkel sites. The nearest ones are in Cabilao Island, the Habagat Shipwreck, and Doljo Point, but the best one may be found in Balicasag Island, where you can explore turtle sanctuaries and psychedelic coral covers.
You can also survey the Hinagdanan Cave, or watch dolphins dance in the nearby island of Pamilacan.
Panampangan Island, Tawi-Tawi
Did you know that the country’s longest sandbar can be found in its southernmost province? Panampangan Island’s crescent-shaped sandbar stretches for three kilometers and has the finest and softest sands one could ever walk on.
It’s not easy to get to Panampangan Island, thus its splendor is hardly untouched. The grilling stations and cozy cabanas beside the clear-blue beach should be enough to enjoy Panampangan’s peaceful scenery.
Balabac Island, Palawan
Those who have only ever known Palawan’s El Nido and Coron are missing out on the Balabac Islands’ pride: pristine islets, stunning sandbars, and a vibrant marine sanctuary that can rival the best beaches anywhere.
Go trekking on the nearby trails of Melville Peak or Italawon Peak, or go island-hopping and be taken to the pink-colored beach of Camiaran and the tortoise haven of Onuk Island.
Palaui Beach, Cagayan
Palaui Island on the northeastern end of Luzon is actually recognized as a Protected Landscape and Seascape, meaning its natural sights are as gorgeously preserved as possible.
Venture to Farol de Cabo Engaño Point, a Spanish-era lighthouse, for the ideal panorama of the island. You may also explore the scenic formations of Siwangag Cove and Engaño Cove, or go island-hopping to the twin islands of Dos Hermanas.
