“We paid for that ticket, e,” Jeric reiterates
Sparkle artist Jeric Gonzales admits that he was surprised when he and girlfriend Rabiya Mateo were accused of being “pa-VIP” and that they did not pay for their ticket during the concert of Korean pop star IU.
However, he is grateful that the fake news was immediately debunked, and the page that posted the wrong information apologized.

In an interview during the press conference of “Widows’ War” on June 21, Jeric reiterated that he and Rabiya paid for their tickets.
He shares, “Actually, nagulat po talaga ako sa issue na yun kasi we paid for that ticket, e. Ako, matipirin akong tao, hindi ako masyadong magastos and for me na bumili ng ganun kamahal na ticket… it’s P12,000 each na seat na kinuha namin.
“Kaya nagulat ako, may nagsabi sa amin na di raw namin binayaran, pa-VIP daw kami.”
Jeric then explains what happened that might have made people interpret they were being “pa-VIP.”
“What happened kasi is na-late kami during the concert. Late kami dumating doon kasi galing kaming Batangas, may fiesta sa family ko.
“So, when we arrived, of course, nagpapatulong kami sa mga ushers kung saan kami and siyempre, medyo nakakaistorbo raw kami sa mga nanonood, so nahirapan sila hanapin yung seat namin kasi may mga nakaupo.
“So, I think yun yung nangyari kaya akala ng mga tao na nagpapa-VIP kami tapos hindi kami bayad.
“Ako naman, wala sa akin yun kung sabihin nila sa akin yun. I don’t mind, hindi ko sinagot. Pero si Rabiya, siya yung sumagot kasi gusto niya i-clear yung name namin na ‘di totoo yun.
“So, she messaged the page na nag-post noon and then yun, tinurn-down agad noong nag-post, nag-sorry, nag-apologize.”

Jeric and Rabiya’s relationship
Jeric and Rabiya have been together for two years “and ongoing,” as he said.
As showbiz fans know, Jeric and Rabiya’s relationship had rocky moments, especially in the beginning.
But now, Jeric assures their fans that their relationship is much more stable than before.
He says, “I can say po na this time, mas stable, mas stronger, mas kinakapitan namin ang isa’t isa and mas ginagawa na lang naming inspiration, unlike before na marami talagang problems ‘pag dumadaan sa isang relationship.
“Pero ngayon, chill na, masaya, then mas more on work na yung focus namin, suportahan sa work. She’s busy, I’m busy, so mas may freedom kami to do yung mga dreams namin together.”
While they do not have plans yet to marry each other, Jeric is sure that Rabiya is the one he wants to end up with.
He proudly declares: “I can say na I really love her and na gusto ko siyang makasama.”
